What is it? It's a method to do some work behind the scenes if you have a form on a web page that collects a mailing address from a user. When someone enters their address into the form, we can (behind the scenes) check with the US Postal Service servers and get their correct "version" of the address.
How does it work? We set this up so that when the form is submitted, we ask the USPS for their preferred street address, city name, state, and zip+4 for the address that was entered. If you're building a mailing list using your website, it's great, because we can store the USPS validated address in your database, for later use.
To see what this looks like, type a street address and then EITHER a city and state OR a zip code into the form below and click "Submit". In an instant, and without refreshing the page, we'll send an address validation request to the USPS, and show you their "official version" of the address. Try it!
