What is it? If you want to use a unique/unusual/rare font in a web page, and you want to be able to modify the text that is displayed in that font whenever you need to, you have a problem. At least it WAS a problem until we worked out this incredible bit of technology.
Take a look at
this page. See the pizza names displayed in that very unusual font (it's called "Chascarillo")? Well, when the website was originally designed, the graphic designer created a graphic image containing each of those names, in that particular color and using that particular background color. Problem is, if the website owner wants to change the pizza names, or comes up with a new pizza (requiring a new name), we had to go back to the graphic designer and have a new image created. This costs time (ours) and money (his).
Well, that's just not good enough! Recently, this website owner asked us to set things up so he could modify his menu ANY TIME HE WANTED TO. BIG problem – there's NO WAY he can create those little graphical menu item title images himself!
Well, our software wizards were up to the task, as you will see...
How does it work? Hey, we'll be honest with you. You really DON'T WANT TO KNOW how it works. It's an extremely complex process. Suffice it to say, it DOES work. Try it out for yourself. Type some text into the textbox to the right, select a different font if you like, click "Update", and watch what happens!
When you click "Update" a new graphic image that is automatically created for you, containing your text, will appear.
(A note for you technical and artistic types: YES, the text in the images IS anti-aliased!) |
